Team Inspiration

Team Inspiration, the official Supporters’ Club for the British Steam Car Challenge was launched on 15^th November 2004.

The aims and objectives of the club include providing support for the project, stimulating interest in alternative fuels and technologies, and inspiring the engineers of tomorrow to think beyond the normal boundaries.

Membership is available at two levels, Standard and Silver. All members will be able to follow the project at first hand, via the regular newsletter and have access to a Members-Only area of the website where in depth technical articles and features will be available. Other benefits include visits to the workshop to see behind the scenes while Inspiration is being constructed, and briefings by team members on the build progress and relevant technical subjects.

Silver Members will also to be invited to attend exclusive events, such as the roll-out of the finished car, some of the UK trials, as well as the all-important record runs.

As a member of Team Inspiration you will be able to witness history in the making, but you could also become part of that history. In a project such as the British Steam Car Challenge, a supporters club not only provides an interest for the members, but also is a valuable resource for the team. It is inevitable that amongst the membership there will be members who have skills and experience that the project needs, it may be a specialised technical skill, or experience of logistics, or maybe just a willingness to help at Team Inspiration events; it all contributes to the success of the project.

All funds raised by Team Inspiration membership fees will directly contribute towards the cost of of the project Inspiration.  However, money raised on club days and from merchandise sales is currently being put towards the cost of designing and manufacturing the front end of the car.  For more information on how this fund raising is progressing, follow the link to the Inspiration Nose Fund.
